Typhoon Muifa is now impacting Shangai

Typhoon Muifa, formerly  known as IndayPH, has made landfall over Zhejiang Province of China and is now currently impacting coastal areas of Zhejiang and Shanghai.

⚠️ Shanghai has upgraded its typhoon emergency response to Level III, the third-highest, as Muifa moved closer to Shanghai.
Typhoon conditions are currently occurring in the Shanghai metro area and portions of northeastern China.
Tropical storm conditions could spread northward to the Bohai Sea through Friday.
Muifa is expected to make another landfall in Zhejiang, very near Shanghai, within the next 6 hours or so.

➡️ Steady weakening is expected following this landfall as Muifa moves north-northwestward just inland over eastern China before it rounds the subtropical ridge and turns northeastward into the Bohai Sea and northern Yellow Sea on Friday.
Current indications that Muifa will now transition into a post-tropical cyclone at that time as it interacts with a larger extratropical low to the northand Muifa should become absorbed into that larger low over the weekend.
