Typhoon Nesat is expected to be closest to Hong Kong during the day

Hong Kong issued No 3 warning signal on Monday as typhoon Nesat intensified over the past few hours.

🌀 The alert was upgraded from a No 1 warning signal issued on Sunday as Nesat battered Philippines.
Typhoon Nesat made landfall in northern Philippines bringing heavy rainfall that submerged villages and farmlands.

🌬 Owing to the combined effect of typhoon Nesat and the northeast monsoon, winds are expected to strengthen gradually over Hong Kong. Current wind speed of the typhoon is 165 km/h with gusts up to 205 km/h.
Due to Nesat’s influence, the East Sea’s north area, including Hoang Sa, will experience heavy rains and strong winds.

➡️ Nesat is expected to be closest to the city during the day.
Typhoon Nesat is estimated to be about 390 km southeast of Hong Kong and then move west-southwest at about 15 km/h across South China Sea.
