Change to cold easterly winds

The start of Meteorological Winter brings a change in the weather for most of Europe: a blocking high starts building west across the UK, leading to a first Arctic outbreak from Scandinavia towards the UK and central Europe by the next weekend.

❄️ Temperatures will be below average especially over Scandinavia, Denmark, the UK, Benelux, Germany and France with some chances of snow in places.
Temperatures will be dropping by this weekend, making it feel colder than average for this time of year.
Easterly winds look likely to continue next week with temperatures staying below average over most of Europe.
A break from cold is expected around mid-next week, when a deep Atlantic low will bring milder air over southwestern Europe and the Mediterranean area.

➡️ A second Arctic outbreak is forecast by the end of next week and this time could affect also southern Europe bringing a spell of very cold and snowy weather.
We expect bitterly cold air to make its way in from the N/NE around the 9th December.
As a result, it will likely turn colder, with an increasing risk of frosts and snow at low altitudes in many countries.
