Severe thunderstorms will threaten the Plains and Midwest

Multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms will threaten the Plains and Midwest early this week, packing threats of tornadoes, large hail and damaging wind gusts.

🌪 The first disturbance will kick off a potentially significant threat of severe storms in the Southern Plains through Sunday night.Tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds are all threats from central and eastern Oklahoma and northern Texas into western Arkansas and southwest Missouri. Some tornadoes could be strong. This weather system will move into the Midwest on Monday and could trigger the development of scattered strong to severe thunderstorms from the Great Lakes to the lower Ohio Valley.

⛈ The next jet stream disturbance will punch out into the Plains by late Tuesday. For now, the most likely area to see severe thunderstorms is from Nebraska into Kansas, Oklahoma and northwest Texas. These storms could pack damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes.
